SYDNEY’S No 1 BURLESQUE SHOW!!!!

A monthly cabaret variety night featuring Australia’s most intriguing professional and emerging burlesque, vaudeville, comedy, music magic and cabaret performers.

During a trip to New York in 2008, producer Jac Bowie  enjoyed a series of cabaret dinner shows and came back to Australia inspired.

With a wealth of successful events behind her including The Burlesque Ball, Bijou Cabaret, Emerald Follies and Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School in Sydney, Jac had been looking for a regular concept that showcases not only Burlesque performers, but a wide range of Artists that all fit into the genre of good old fashioned cabaret, and also allowed the audience to enjoy a beautiful dinner whilst comfortably watching the show.

The Ruby Revue was born.

Since it’s small beginnings in The Supper Club, The Ruby Revue has now grown into a huge hit for Sydney audiences and is now in residence at the magnificent Verge Bar at The Arthouse Hotel in Sydney, each month selling out, sometimes months in advance. In July 2009, The Ruby Revue also commenced in Melbourne (firstly at The Thornbury Theatre, and now at the more central location of The Order of Melbourne in Swanston Street).

The show has featured in Time Out Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, and loads of other media, each giving glowing reviews of the range, quality and generally praising the event as the top event of it’s genre, with Time Out naming the event as Sydney’s Number 1 Burlesque show in 2009.

The Ruby Revue is a completely different show each month. We are continuously seeking new talent to keep the show fresh for audiences. Over the past year we have had a range of acts including musical, burlesque, magic, circus, pole, comedy and even card ninjas. It truly is a mix bag!

All acts are chosen to reflect the ambience of the night, and all acts are tasteful and suit audiences of all ages and walks of life. It’s simply good old fashioned fun!

The Ruby Revue is also a very popular choice for private groups including birthdays, hen’s parties – and we can accomodate for groups of up to 50 in the event or even put on your own Private Ruby Revue.
